Leather is a substance prone to color migration. Color migration will not only affect the inherent color of leather, but will also affect the color of objects in contact with it, resulting in obvious product quality defects. The leather rubbing color fastness tester is used to test the dry and wet rubbing color fastness of various leathers. It is a test equipment to assess the quality of leather products. Test material:

Polyvinyl chloride film (white), test frame sample and colorfastness to perspiration The first racks of samples are consistent, in which the weight of the hammer is 4.5 kg and the size of the bottom is 11.5 cm × 6 cm. The size of the glass plate is 8 cm × 5 cm, and the surface is flat. The oven is conventional and can control the temperature (50±2)℃.

The test leather samples are divided into automobile leather, upholstery leather and shoe upper leather according to their uses, with 10 pieces for each category. All samples were placed in a standard air environment for more than 24 hours before the experiment.

Test project:

1. Determination of color migration of leather

At present, there are ISO 15701 and ASTM D5552 standards for the method of detecting color migration in leather.Among them,ISO 15701 uses polyvinyl chloride film as the color adhesive material, while ASTM D5552 uses white cotton liner as the color bonded material, which must be soaked in distilled water before use. In comparison, the operation of ISO 15701 is simpler and it is also widely adopted by tannery companies. This method is used in this experimental operation.

Operation process:

Cutting the sample (20mm×30mm) with a die, then stick the tested surface of the sample on the polyvinyl chloride film (PVC in abbreviated, 50mm× 30mm), Place the tested side down, place the sample in the center between two peeling plates, put the plate in the device and place a weight weighing 4.5kg on it, turn the device with precaution while maintaining the pressure, and moving the weight The code maintains the sample at an average pressure of 750g/cm2 during the test,put the device in the oven, the oven temperature should be in the range of (50±2)°C, and put it for 16h. Remove the sample from the device and allow it to cool to room temperature before separating the sample PVC products and sheets, use the gray scale to assess the coloring of the PVC sheets.

The color sticking evaluation results are given in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 251 and are divided into 5 grades, of which grade 5 indicates that there is no color sticking or color migration, and grade 1 indicates significant staining and color migration. There is a noticeable color change.

2. Determination of the color fastness of leather to wet rubbing

The determination of the color fastness of leather to wet rubbing is carried out in accordance with the requirements of QB/T 2537.

Operation process:

Fix the white felt soaked and pressed in dewatered water.on the test head (500g) of the rubbing color fastness tester, then place the leather sample Secure it on the test table of the instrument, with the smooth side up, and stretch 10% in direction of friction; put down the test head with felt, start the instrument, stop after 250 times, remove the felt and check the felt according to the requirements of GB/T 251 Sticky color for evaluation.
