The Four-Station Leather Rubbing Color Fastness Tester is used to evaluate color transfer by determining the degree of color fading from the leather surface or coating and the staining degree on the wool felt. During the test, a dry or wet white wool felt is wrapped around the rubbing surface and reciprocally rubbed against the specimen mounted on the test platform. Both dry and wet testing methods are available.

The square wool felt mounted on the rubbing head (with or without additional weights) performs reciprocal rubbing against the leather specimen (stretched or unstretched) fixed on the rubbing platform. After a specified number of cycles, the staining degree on the wool felt is assessed using a grey scale for staining, while the fading degree of the leather specimen is evaluated using a grey scale for colour change to determine the rating grade.
The instrument features a compact structural design. The fixtures are made of stainless steel for durability and convenient specimen clamping. Manual tightening ensures stable fixation without loosening. The operation is simple and the performance is reliable.
1. What is the Four-Station Leather Rubbing Color Fastness Tester used for?
The tester is used to evaluate the color fastness of leather materials by measuring color transfer, fading, and staining caused by repeated rubbing under dry or wet conditions.
2. What standards does the instrument comply with?
The instrument complies with multiple international and industry standards, including ISO 11640. SATRA PM 173. QB/T 2537-2001. and GB/T 20991-7.3.
3. Can the tester perform both dry and wet rubbing tests?
Yes. The equipment supports both dry and wet rubbing color fastness testing by using dry or moistened wool felt during the rubbing process.
4. How many samples can be tested at the same time?
The machine is equipped with four testing stations, allowing up to four samples to be tested simultaneously for improved efficiency.
5. What are the main advantages of this tester?
The tester features automatic operation, a compact and durable stainless-steel structure, stable specimen clamping, easy operation, and reliable testing performance for leather and footwear materials.
