Experimental steps:

Set the number of times according to the standard, start the switch and start the test.

(1) Determination of the inspection interval (number of rubs): The inspection interval is set to prevent the rubbing of the fabric from exceeding the predetermined number of times. (2) The test sample shall be placed in a relaxed state on a smooth, air-ventilated surface and placed at standard atmospheric pressure for at least 18 hours. When sampling, the distance from the edge of the fabric should be at least 100mm, and a sufficient number of samples (usually a minimum of 3 pieces) should be cut from the entire laboratory sample, and all information about the fabric should be included as much as possible.

Notes on the operation of the Martindale Abrasion Tester:
1. The friction cloth cannot be used repeatedly, and a friction cloth must be replaced each time a test is completed;
2. Wool felt can be used Repeated use, if the surface is worn or stained, it should be replacedreplace and can be used on both sides;
3. The insole must be dressed first and then the Martindale abrasion test is carried out;

Evaluation of the abrasion resistance of the fabric
The evaluation of the abrasion resistance of the fabric usually has the following methods:
1. Observation of changes in appearance

2. Determination of changes in physical properties
After the sample has been worn for a certain number of times, the changes in physical and mechanical properties such as weight, thickness and breaking strength are measured to determine the degree of abrasion resistance of the fabric.
