Test method for color fastness to rubbing of fabrics

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-03 Click:152

The frictional resistance of fabrics is a performance index to be tested in the textile industry. Since textiles will experience different frictional environments during use and wear, what is the frictional resistance of textiles like under these conditions and how can it be controlled and avoided? ? Here the engineers of Standard Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. you out with experiments.

1. Purpose of the test:
Testing the abrasion resistance of the fabric color.

Second, test range:

Suitable for all kinds of colored fabrics.

3. Applicable material:

Rub color fastness testing machine, condition: room temperature (23±2℃).

4. Test Requirements:

1. Load of the test machine: 9N
2. Friction times: 10 times back and forth.
3. Friction distance: 100mm
4. Friction speed: 60 times/minute

5. Test steps:
1. Use a cutting knife to cut two clean, flat, wrinkle-free and undamaged samples with a size of 200X50 mm on the sample. One for dry rubbing and one for warm rubbing. 2. Place the sample on the friction platform of the rubbing fastness testing machine and keep the surface of the sample flat. 3. Set the load of the test machine to 9N, the friction head to a circular friction head, the friction speed to 60 times/min, and the number of friction strokes to 10 times. 4. Dry rub: Clamp the white standard cotton cloth (dry) on the friction head of the friction rod, put down the support rod and rub it back and forth for 10 times.
5. A Wet rub: Soak the white standard cotton cloth in distilled water, and then roll it, so that the water absorption of the cotton cloth is between 95% and 105%.
B put the rolled up standard cotton cloth (wet) on the friction head of the friction rod, lay down the support rod andrub it back and forth 10 times.
C Dry the wet cotton cloth naturally at room temperature. 6. Use the D65 light source and the GB/T-251 staining chart in the standard light box to perform the staining classification of a dry and wet cotton cloth.

6. Precautions:
1. Dry rub and wet rub cannot be rubbed in the same place of the sample.
2. When sorting, the place with the deepest stain should be selected for sorting.
3. If the material has multiple colors, multiple colors should be rubbed and the darkest stain is taken as the final result.
