Physical interference
Physical interference refers to the interference effect caused by any change in physical factors during the sample transfer and evaporation process. Factors that belong to this type of interference include: test solution viscosity, solvent vapor pressure, atomizing gas pressure, etc. Physical interference is non-selective interference, and the influence on each element of the sample is basically similar.

Preparing a standard sample similar to the sample to be tested is a common method to eliminate physical interference. When sample composition is unknown or cannot be compared, standard addition or dilution can be used to reduce and eliminate physical interferences.

Chemical interference
Chemical interference refers to the interference effect caused by the chemical interaction ebetween the item to be measured and other components, which mainly affects the atomization efficiency of the item to be measured.ured. main source of interference. This is due to the formation of a thermodynamically more stable compound between the atoms of the element measured in the liquid or gas phase and the composition of the interfering substance, thus affecting the dissociation and atomization of the compound from the element measured.
Methods of eliminating chemical interferences include: chemical separation; use a high temperature flame; add release agent and protective agent; using a matrix modifier, etc.

Ionization Interference
At high temperatures, atoms are ionized, reducing the concentration of atoms in the ground state and causing a decrease in the atomic absorption signal. This type of interference is called ionization interference. The ionization effect increases with increasing tetemperature and the ionization equilibrium constant, and decreases with increasing concentration of the element being measured. The addition of more easily ionized alkali metal elements can effectively eliminate interference from ionization. Spectral Interference Spectral interference includes spectral line overlap, non-absorbing lines in the spectral passband, DC emission in the atomization cell, molecular absorption, scattering of light, etc modulation technology, the first three factors can generally be ignored, and the influence of molecular absorption and light scattering are mainly considered, which are the main factors forming the spectral background.
Molecular Absorption Interference Molecular absorption interference refers to the interference caused by radiation absorption of gas molecules, oxides and gene salt molecules.created during the atomization process. Light scattering refers to the scattering of light by solid particles generated during the atomization process, deflecting scattered light from the optical path and undetected by the detector, resulting in high absorbance values.
