Independently developed and manufactured, the Martindale Abrasion Tester is touch screen controlled, comes with a full programmer and can be pre-programmed in batches and total counts, set the count for each test head individually. The Martindale Abrasion Tester can test the abrasion resistance and pilling behavior of various fabrics. Under a certain pressure, the sample and the specified abrasive are subjected to continuous reciprocating friction, and the degree of wear and pilling is evaluated by comparison with standard parameters.

The Martindale abrasion tester is suitable for two types of test methods, the operation basic is as follows:

1. Under certain pressure, the circular sample is rubbed against the fabric of the same material with the trajectory of the Lissajous figure. Once the specified speed is reached, the degree of pilling of the sample is evaluated.

1. For this test method, users are recommended to use the countdown timer of this instrument, which is more intuitive. Turn on the instrument power switch, touch the function menu, then touch the countdown button. The display screen enters the countdown state, then touches the setting display window to set the data as the number of friction turns required in the test method standard.

2. Prepare the sample and the abrasive according to the standard method.

3. Pinch the sample with theoutward facing test surface on the friction head required in the method standard. For fabric tested no more than 500 g/m2, a piece of polyester foam is placed between the sample and the rubbing head; if it is over 500gsm or a composite fabric, no foam is needed. All eight specimens were subjected to the same stress during tightening, so refer to relevant standards for specific industries.

4. Place the felt and the abrasive on the 4 sample platforms respectively, put the sample loading hammer on the abrasive, then tighten the slip ring to fix the slip ring on the specimen platform and 4 subject abrasives at the same voltage.

5. Place the friction head on the abrasive and insert the connecting rod through the station hole of the guide plate on the friction head. Whether you need to add a sample weight or disc depends on each individual\'s needs.cun.respective test method.

6. OK After the specification of the Lissajous motion curve is correct, press the start button, and the instrument will start working until the friction meter is at 0, and the instrument will stop automatically.

7. Take the sample, compare the standard photo in the evaluation box and rate the level of pilling of each sample.

8. When you run the next test, you must press the reset button to reset the instrument to its initial state.

2. Under certain pressure, the circular fabric sample and the standard abrasive rub against each other in the path of the Lissajous curve, damaging the sample. The abrasion times indicate the abrasion resistance of the fabric.

1. For this test method, users are recommended to use the counting method of this instrument, which ismore intuitive. Turn on the power switch of the instrument, touch the function menu ü then press the count up button. The display screen enters the counting state, then touches the setting display window to set the data as the number of friction revolutions required in the test method standard.

2. Prepare standard abrasives, standard pads, and samples using standard methods.

3. Cover the standard abrasive on the standard pad. The surface of the standard abrasive should have no wrinkles, knots or uneven thickness. Place a sample loading hammer on the standard abrasive, then tighten the fixed slip ring so that the fixed slip ring is fixed on the sample table, and make sure that the four abrasives are under the same tension. A new standard or sample abrasive should be used at the start of each test and a new abrasivestandard must be replaced at the end of the test after 50,000 rubs now.

4. Place the sample on the friction head required in the method standard while wedging polyurethane foam between the sample and the friction head.

5. Place the friction head on the abrasive and insert the connecting rod through the station hole of the guide plate on the friction head. The addition of a sample weight or disc depends on the requirements of the particular test method.

6. After confirming that the specifications of the Lissajous motion curve are correct, press the start button and the instrument will begin to operate until the predetermined number of friction revolutions is reached, and the instrument will stop automatically.

7. Observe the degree of wear on each sample and estimate the number of revolutions of friction interval required to continue the test. Then set the number of revolutions of the frotment according to the above setting method intervals in the parameter display window and restart the instrument to work. When some of the 4 samples have reached the test completion state, touch the corresponding station count window to lock the station count function and remove the friction head from the station. Then continue the experiment until all 4 animals are in the end-of-experiment state.

8. Record the accumulated friction data for each station.

9. For the next test, you need to touch the reset button to reset the instrument to the initial state, and then reset the predetermined friction rotation number.
