Martindale abrasion tester SATRA TM31 friction test of leather shoe material

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-04 Click:123

Martindale Abrasion Tester The use of the leather abrasion tester is an item that must be tested by the company. Due to the characteristics of the industry, the leather shoe industry requires higher wear resistance than the For other industries, enterprises need to understand the friction resistance properties of materials in a timely manner. At present, there are certain differences in the test standards for the friction resistance properties of leather shoe materials at home and abroad, but the specific experimental procedures and test methods are basically the same. The wear resistance testers are basically common types in these industries. Here the engineers from Standard Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. analyze them briefly for you.

In the SATRA TM31 standard, Martindale Abrasion Tester detects the method of wet rubbing of leather:

1. Experimental Standards:

ASTM D4970ISO 12945.2, GB/T 4802.2/13775/21196.1/21196.2 ASTM D4966 ISO 12947 FZ/ BS EN 3818/73 ISO 20344

Second, test specimen

1 Cutting device, such as a press knife , has sufficient dimensions To produce specimens that can be pressed firmly against the specimen carrier, the exact specimen dimensions are determined by the specimen carrier clamps. Just in case the SATRA STM105 would have a round diameter of 44+ - 1mm. From different positions on the plate, avoiding a 50mm manufacturing edge.

2 Cut out a test sample and use it for comparison or reference to the faded or worn sample.

3 The test sample is rotated for 24 hours in an environment of 20+/-2°C and a humidity of 65+/-2%.

3. Experimental Steps

1 Moisten half of the abrasion resistant samples and half of the wool felt until the color of both sides of thesample is noticeably darker.

2 Place the sample in each clamping ring with the test side facing out.

3 If the quality of the test sample reaches 500g/m2, test method A or B can be used to place foam in each sample container to fill the sample test space. </p

4 Clamp the sample to prevent bending, wrinkling and deformation of the test sample.

5 Place a piece of dry wool felt on half of the abrasion sample

6 Place the dry abrasion test sample on the wool felt with the test side up.

7 Place the weight on the sample, smooth out the creases, remove the weight

8 Repeat step 6.7 on another sample

9 If necessary, immediately repeat steps 6.5 to 6.8, using wet abrasion resistant samples and wet wool felt.

10 Place the test sample correctly in the test fixture to ensure that the test can proceed normally

11 Load the force on each test head to ensure that thetest sample and abrasion resistant samples are loaded as required Force value

Fourth, Martindale abrasion tester for textile testing

1 . Textile and leather abrasion test.

A round piece of cloth is rubbed against a standard rubbing cloth. The swing path is called a Lissajous figure.

2. Textile and fabric pilling test

The pilling test method used on the Martin-Dell test machine has been developed in collaboration with EMPA. The test is suitable for both knitted and woven fabrics (sand woven from staple fibres). The standard described in language is combined with the EMPA image standard to evaluate the degree of pilling.

3. Motion and Amplitude

Some jobs require regular interactive motion testing based on the Lissajous diagram. When switching from abrasion test to pilling test, the length of the vibration amplitude must be changed. Changing the operating mode and amplitude is very simple, just move the position of the drive unit, without the need for other tools and spare parts.

5. Standard consumables for Martindale Abrasion Tester:
Wool Felt (140mm, 90mm), Wool Fabric (140mm), Foam Pad (38mm)
