Light color fastness tester experiment exposure angle

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-08 Click:120

The light fastness tester is a test instrument used to quickly determine the light and weather fastness of dyes and the light and weather fastness of various substances. Qisnun Precision Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer and can provide users with a solution plan. In addition, our R&D engineer said that for products whose sun aging performance needs to be tested, it is very important to choose an appropriate exposure angle. Only in this way can the science and accuracy of test results be guaranteed.

Exposure Angle:

45° South:

This angle is considered a typical exterior exposure angle, and is also the angle chosen by many factories. Widely used on materials with no choice of exposure angles.

5° South:

This exposure angle is the exposure angle utilized by automotive products or other inclined materials, or is used as an angle close to horizontal. This small angle of inclination allows moisture from precipitation to settle on the surface of the sample. This tilt angle is more severe than the 45° test because it receives more annual solar radiation. Especially during the summer months, these effects are intensified due to warmer temperatures. And a 5° tilt angle will collect more condensation than a 45° tilt angle, and the moisture will stay longer.

0° (Horizontal Plane):

Horizontal exposure is rarely used for flat specimens or panels because a slight tilt of 5° allows water to flow out. However, this angle is useful for many samples and 3D parts. This exposure angle is also used for some materials that require water retention, such as roofing materials.

Angle of theatitude:

25° north latitude corresponds to the location of the test site in Florida. Latitude 34°N is the location of the Arizona Proving Ground. This angle, known as the latitude angle, is used to maximize solar irradiance. Latitude angles are also widely used in solar installations such as solar water heaters.

90° South:

This vertical fixed angle is often used for architectural coatings. The vertical exposure angle will greatly reduce solar radiation, lower exposure temperature and reduce humidity time.

Lightfastness tester is suitable for automotive materials, plastics, paints, packaging, solar photovoltaic, industries textiles, including geotextiles, to testing pigments, stabilizers, additives, etc.
