Is it safe to install a baby seat for my baby? Don\'t ignore these details

I wonder how many of you here have chosen to install safety seats for your children? How to install it correctly? How can it be safer?

1. The safety seat is installed too loosely

Hidden danger: This is the most common mistake made when using the seat. If you sit in a car seat that is too loose, the car seat may not be securely secured during the emergency stop and your baby\'s head may hit the seat in front.

Check: Hold the bottom of the seat (where the seat belt goes) with both hands and forcefully shake it back and forth, left and right , as well as range of motion. should not exceed 2.5 cm.

Correction: Kneel in the car seat, press back with all your might, and at the same timetighten the seat belt at the fixed point, make sure to lock it (this is often neglected). For families using a safety cradle, tighten and lock the seat belt after pressing down on the cradle with your arms.

2. The seat belt is too loose

Hidden danger: In order to make the baby comfortable, parents often cannot bear to pull the seat belt too tight. However, a seat belt that is too loose will not provide any protection. In the event of an emergency stop, children cannot be restrained in safety seats and may slide out of loosened seat belts.

Check: Use your fingers to pinch the seat belt. If it can be pinched, that means it\'s too loose.

Correction: Tighten the seat belt until no part can be pinched (insert your fingers under the seat belt, only one doigt can be inserted to comply with the standard).

3. Let the baby sit up too soon

Hidden danger: The baby\'s bones are very delicate. When an emergency stop occurs, the baby\'s head pushes forward due to inertia. At this stage, the child\'s neck and spine are not protected and are easily injured.red.

Checking: It is recommended to use a safety seat installed backwards before the baby is 2 years old (or before the height and weight n \'reach the upper limit of the seat). ). The advice given by pediatricians is that only babies over one year old and weighing more than 9 kilos (note: age and weight must be respected at the same time, one is essential) can sit forward.

Correction: Choose the appropriate sitting position based on the baby\'s age, weight and height.

4. Reverse installation angle is inappropriate

Hidden danger: The baby\'s airway is very narrow, only the thickness of a straw. If the seat angle is too vertical when installed backwards, the baby will be heavier. The head will tilt forward, which poses a risk of compressing the airways and causing suffocation.

Check: Many safety seats have a level that will alert you when the installation angle is inappropriate. If your seat doesn\'t have this configuration, you might as well try this little trick:

Fold a square piece of paper in half to obtain an isosceles right triangle. Place the triangle vertically on the surface of the chair back, keeping the hypotenuse parallel to the back, and check if the top right-angled edge is parallel to the floor. If they are parallel, that means the seat angle is exactly 45 degrees. If there is a significant inclination, the angle needs to be adjusted.

Correction: The most suitable inverted installation angle of the seat is 45 degrees (especially suitable for newborns), and the minimum angle is not below 30 degrees.

5. Improper use of seat belt anchorages

Hidden danger: If the anchor is buckled in the incorrect position, the seat belt will fall out of place. The child\'s shoulders slipped and could not be protected.

Check: The immobilizer should not be as high as the baby\'s neck, nor should it be as low as the baby\'s abdomen. The correct position is at the level of the baby\'s armpits and right at the level of the sternum.

Correction: Check the anchor position each time you fasten your child\'s seat belt.

The baby seat should not be ignored ~ Parents should pay attention to it!
