Scope of application:

Martindale Abrasion Tester is suitable for testing abrasion resistance and apparent pilling performance of woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, non-woven fabrics, decorative materials, coated fabrics, etc. testing.

Operating principle:

The tissue to be tested is placed in the upper sample holder and rubbed against the abrasive placed on the grinding table. The friction trajectory is a Lissajous figure. After the specified friction phase according to the test requirements, remove the fabric and calculate the abrasion resistance index or evaluate the fuzzing and pilling level of the sample through visual description.

Martindale Abrasion Tester Test Procedure:

1. The sample is parked in the laboratory environment for more than 8 hours.

2. Cut a test piece from the flat part of the test piece. If it is an insole, it must be cut to the transfer printing area.

3. Remove the load and load shaft from the test machine.

4. Remove the top plate and test fixture.

5. Sample device: loosen the fixing ring on the test fixture, remove the sample pressing piece, place the sample in the test fixture base, and put a pad between the sample and the test fixture base A piece of sample packing, then put the sample packing piece on the sample packinging and fix it with a fixing ring.

6. The device of wool felt and rubbing cloth: loosen the fixing screw and fixing ring, place the wool felt on the base and spread the rubbing cloth, press 2.5 kg in the center of the rubbing cloth plate, replace the locking ring and tighten the locking screws.

7. Replace the top plate and insert the load shaft (12KPa) through the round hole in the top plate.

8. Place the test fixture with the sample facing down on the base fixture, adjust the circular groove of the test fixture to align with the load axis, and insert the load axis into the groove in the circular shape of the test fixture.

9. Set the number of times according to the standard, start the switch and start the test.

10. After reaching the set number of times, it will automatically stop and remove the sample to determine the result.
