Interpretation of the principle of operation of the water quality analyzer

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-06 Click:104

In order to protect the aquatic environment, it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of wastewater discharges. The design of detection points and the quality of detection instruments (mainly water quality analyzers) play an essential role in monitoring the aquatic environment. The content of various chemical components in water is determined by chemical and physical methods.

There are three types of water quality analyzers: analysis simple, full scan and special scan scan.

Simplified analysis is done in the field, and there are few elements of analysis, but it must be fast and timely. It is suitable for the preliminary understanding of the main chemical components of groundwater in various aquifers of a wide area. Depends on task requirements.

In addition, the fully automatic ion analyzer can perform an analysisrapid and accurate qualitative and quantitative lysis, and can be fully automatic, intelligent, real-time online, and analyze multiple parameters at the same time.

The water quality analyzer mainly uses the ion-selective electrode measurement method to realize the detection. Electrodes on the instrument: pH, fluorine, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and reference electrodes.

Each electrode has an ion-selective membrane that reacts with the corresponding ions in the sample to be measured. The membrane is an ion exchanger which reacts with the ionic charge to change the potential of the membrane. The potential between the liquid, the sample and the membrane can then be detected.

The two potential differences detected on either side of the membrane will generate a current. The sample, reference electrode, and reference electrode solution form a \"loop\" on one side, and the memberane, the inner electrode solution and the inner electrode are on the other side.

The difference in concentration of ions between the internal electrode solution and the sample will generate an electrochemical voltage on both sides of the membrane of the working electrode. Voltage is fed into the amplifier via the high conductivity internal electrode, and the reference electrode is also drawn to the amplifier location.

The calibration curve is obtained by detecting a standard solution of known ion concentration, so as to detect the ion concentration in the sample.

When the measured ions in solution come into contact with the electrode, migration of ions occurs in the aquifer of the ion-selective electrode matrix.

There is a potential due to the change in charge of the migrating ions, which changes the potential between the surfaces of the membrane and generates a differencepotential between the measuring electrode and the reference electrode.
