Material wear resistance testing is a common type of testing, which involves many aspects such as material quality, durability, and safety. Different materials have different hardness and wear resistance properties; This article focuses on analyzing the wear resistance testing of commonly used glass.


Testing principle:

The glass wear resistance testing instrument is used to test the scratch and scratch resistance of glass. The instrument sets the number of friction times through a counter and controls the operating speed of the friction head through a speed controller to meet the actual testing needs of customers. During the experiment, a steel wool cloth was installed on the 10mm * 10mm friction head, with adjustable weights to adjust the pressure load of the friction head and friction the glass. After the experiment, the sample was taken to evaluate its scratch and scratch resistance performance.

Due to the need for moisture adjustment of the sample, it is recommended to use it in a constant temperature and humidity laboratory


Experimental preparation:

1. Take a sample with a size of 200mm * 150mm from the entire sample, or take three samples with a size of 100mm * 50mm;

2. By adjusting the screws on the connecting friction head, adjust the gap between the friction head and the specimen to ensure that the contact surface is completely snug.


Test method:

Place the cut sample on the sample clamping platform and clamp it properly

Secure the weights and ensure that the friction head and specimen are in full contact, and tighten the device

Turn on the machine and select the desired testing mode (specified number of times and continuous operation mode); Afterwards, set the number of frictions to be made and select the desired speed to run.

Turn on the governor switch, press the start button, and the equipment will start running.

After the experiment is completed, record the surface friction of the sample and perform relevant ratings.
