Carpet combustion tester

Carpet combustion testing machine is used to test the flammability and flame retardancy of carpets when subjected to small flames. According to different standard requirements, two methods can be used for testing: the hot metal nut method and the urotropine pill method.

Testing method:

There are two methods to test: hot metal nut method BS 4790; Aggregation plate method. Hot nut method. The stainless steel nut is heated to 900 ℃ in a muffle furnace. Place the test sample into the test box and use crucible pliers to place the clamp ring on the sample. Place the heated nut in the center of the locking ring and remove it after 30 seconds. Then measurements can be taken to evaluate the spread of fire points on the sample. Aggregation plate method. Suggest placing the test box in the laboratory fume hood. The moistened sample is placed on a movable base in the testing box, and a metal plate with circular edges is placed on the sample. Place the polymer plate at the center of the sample and ignite it. After the flame is extinguished, measurements can be taken to evaluate the combustion effect.

Hot nut method

Heat the stainless steel nut in a muffle furnace to 900 ℃. Place the test sample into the test box, use crucible pliers to place the clamp ring on the sample, and place the heated nut in the center of the clamp ring. After 30 seconds, remove the nut and measure to evaluate the spread of fire on the sample.

Ulotopine Pill Method

Place the test sample into the test box, place the clamp ring on the sample, ignite the standard pill, extinguish the flame, and then measure to evaluate the combustion effect.
