What is the principle of interpretation of the rotameter?

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-05 Click:126

Rotameters are used to measure the flow of non-pulsating single-phase fluids (liquid or gas) and are widely used in the chemical industry, petroleum, light industry, medicine, environmental protection, food testing and measurement, scientific research and other departments.

Rotameter Working Principle

Rotameter is a flowmeter that applies the principle of changing the flow area: the fluid in the ( zone) pipeline When the movement encounters an obstacle, a pressure difference is formed before and after the obstacle.

The size of this pressure difference is related to the flow area and the flow velocity when the fluid is obstructed. Use this pressure difference to push a moving obstruction to move and change the flow area as the fluid changes. ;

Keep pressure difference constantn between the front and back of the obstruction. At this time, the position of the obstruction is related to the flow velocity, so the flow velocity can be obtained, then the flow rate value can be obtained.

Introduce the principle of rotameter and its advantages and disadvantages Metal tube rotameter Composition of rotameter and principle of flow measurement;

Rotameter consists of of a conical tube with scales which gradually expand from bottom to top and a rotor which is placed in the conical tube and can move up and down freely.

When working, the measured fluid enters from the lower end of the conical tube.

Moving upward along the conical tube, flowing through the annular space between the rotor and the conical tube, then exiting the upper end of the conical tube.

Driven by the active fluid, the rotor is subjected to a dynamic pressure of the ascending fluid sur the rotor, which is exactly equal to the gravity of the rotor in the measured fluid (i.e. the gravity of the rotor minus the buoyancy of the fluid on the rotor).
