The Si4000 xenon lamp aging tester is a fully automatic parameter closed-loop control aging tester, with a large LCD touch screen display. It can simultaneously control control parameters such as light irradiation, blackboard temperature, box temperature, box humidity, spray cycle, and operating time. The controller has preset more than ten programs at the factory, and users can also customize three programs. After the program is called and executed, it runs automatically without the need for manual monitoring. The power of Si4000 lamp tube is 6500W. In a natural aging environment, the sample is mainly exposed to radiation from light with wavelengths between 300-800nm. Si4000 can choose 340nm, 420nm, and 300-400nm as monitoring points to control the radiation intensity at that location.

During the experiment, in order to ensure the reproducibility of the test results, it is necessary to maintain the constant parameters of the experiment process, among which the irradiation intensity of the light source is the most important control parameter. In order to overcome the influence of lamp attenuation and voltage instability on irradiation intensity, Si4000 measures the irradiation intensity of monitoring points through a light sensor. After comparing the results with the set value, the lamp power is closed-loop controlled by adjusting the current to ensure that the irradiation intensity of the sample is always constant. The American standard for outdoor aging often uses 340nm as the monitoring point; The American standard for indoor aging often uses 420nm as the monitoring point; The European standard commonly uses 300-400nm for both indoor and outdoor applications. It is recommended to use 340nm as the first monitoring point and 420 as the second monitoring point in the host. When conducting a certain experiment, both monitoring points can be monitored, but only one can be controlled. In addition, we recommend purchasing a 300-400nm light filtering device. When a 300-400nm monitoring point is needed, users can modify it themselves, and the host will automatically recognize it after modification. When both the inner and outer filters are made of borosilicate glass, multiplying the reading at 340nm by 115 is the radiation intensity in the 300-400nm range. The testing machine can control the duration of the test by accumulating radiation energy.

In different real environments and regions, the spectral energy distribution in sunlight is an important control parameter in experimental standards, and blackboard temperature represents the highest surface temperature of the sample when exposed to radiation. When the sample is irradiated, it will experience an increase in surface temperature due to the absorption of infrared energy from the light, and the surface temperature will vary for different colors. During the aging process, temperature is also an important factor affecting the aging rate. Because according to the principle of electrochemistry, the rate of electrochemical reaction doubles for every 10 ℃ increase in temperature. So the surface temperature of the sample is also an important control parameter during the experimental process. The blackboard thermometer, like the sample, is also mounted on the sample holder and hung on the sample holder. The commonly used blackboard thermometers in American and European standards are different. The American standard is called BPT, while the European standard is called BST (Blackboard Standard Temperature). The American standard blackboard thermometer is a metal plate coated with standard paint, while the European standard has a plastic insulation layer attached to the metal plate behind it. Generally, the reading of BST is higher than that of BPT by more than 5 degrees. To meet different standards, it is recommended to use dual channel blackboard temperature measurement and control.

It can hold 65 samples (sample size 70x150x3mm), ensuring that each sample receives uniform radiation intensity. Each sample needs to be lined with an aluminum plate. If each sample is not enough to fill the sample holder, the empty sample holder needs to be lined with an aluminum plate to fill the entire sample holder.

Instrument Description

The service life of the lamp tube: It is recommended to replace it every 2000 hours, and the filter also needs to be replaced regularly. Qinsun Company provides a 4000 hour spare parts package, which can be selected based on different combinations of internal and external filters. The spare parts package includes two lamp tubes, several inner and outer filters, and other consumables, which are sufficient to meet the 4000 hour test.

So users need to prepare pure water or pure water generation devices. There is a small pure water tank in the lower left front of the Si4000, and pure water flowing through the lamp tube flows back to the tank. After the pure water is lost, the water level drops, and the machine will automatically replenish it with water; There is also a snake shaped cooling pipe installed in the water tank, which is connected to tap water. As pure water absorbs the heat from the lamp, the water temperature rises. When the temperature inside the pure water tank exceeds 55 ℃, the tap water in the snake shaped pipe begins to flow to cool the pure water, keeping the efficiency of cooling the lamp. The recommended temperature for tap water is below 20 ℃. If users consider the cost and water temperature of tap water, it is recommended to equip a water chiller for recycling. When the temperature inside the pure water tank exceeds 65 ℃, Si4000 will automatically shut down for protection.

● Rotating drum sample holder and uniformity of irradiation intensity and blackboard temperature: The design of the Si4000 rotating drum sample holder is to place the sample vertically on a rotating frame in the center of the instrument. The rotating frame consists of a cylindrical single-layer sample display frame, and the sample rotates around the lamp source at a speed of 1 revolution per minute on the drum frame to obtain balanced light energy, temperature, and humidity. Due to the aging of xenon lamp tubes during operation, some black spots will be generated, which will affect the uniformity of lighting. When the drum sample holder works, it rotates at a uniform speed to evenly distribute the light from the black spots throughout the entire sample space, greatly balancing this subtle error.
