TABER type abrasion tester is the most widely used product durability testing tool in the world. These products include plastics, paper, coatings, textiles, leather and flooring. It provides fast and accurate test methods for research, development and product quality improvement of raw materials, and these test methods are included in many standards such as ASTM, ISO, NEMA, TAPPI, DIN, SAE and JIS
The top part of the instrument is a sample mount and a pair of sanding wheels. A counterweight is attached to the sanding wheel. The number of times of friction, stop the operation of the instrument, remove the sample, observe the degree of wear to evaluate the wear resistance, and provide reference data for material selection.

Industrial application
Refer to ASTM D 3884-2009 standard test principle , use the Taber abrasion tester on soft leather, artificial leather, synthetic leather, microfiber leather, and the abrasion resistance of textiles and other commonly used shoe upper materials were tested and analyzed. Depending on the type and load of the grinding wheel, the optimization test of the test conditions is carried out. The results show that soft surface leather should be tested with a grinding wheel of CS17 and a load of 1000 g, artificial leather, synthetic leather and textiles should be tested with a grinding wheel of H18 and a load of 500 g, and superfiber leather should be tested with a grinding wheel of H18 and eand load of 1000g.
Different test pieces use grinding wheels for reference
