Homogenization is the complete mixing of two components in a system, whose properties are immiscible.
The common application in microbiology is to resuspend cell precipitation and destroy cell clots and tissue.
Complete destruction of individual cells through homogenization can only ensure sensitive materials (cell culture, liver tissue, plant tissue, etc.). Typically, a homogenizer is used as a preparation step for chemical (detergent), enzyme, or mechanical cell fragmentation.
Mechanical cell fragmentation system (French pressure system, BioNeb system, ultrasound system, etc.).
Highly homogenization increases the effect of cell fragmentation and reduces the residence time of chemicals or enzymes.
Applicable scope:
1. Homogenization of two insoluble liquids, for example, producing lotion
2. Mixing solids into liquids, for example, creating suspensions
3. Separate bacteria or yeast cells from the culture medium by centrifugation or resuspension, and wash with buffer solution
4. Splitting bacterial or yeast cell clots, for example, used for chemical cell fragmentation
5. Division unit cell structure, sensitive materials, such as cell culture, liver, etc.
6. Separate unit cell structures, resilient materials, such as muscles, intestines, skin, plant tissues
Instrument principle:
The principle of a semi-automatic homogenizer is to achieve separation, mixing, crushing, and homogenization by rotating the grinding pestle inside the homogenizing tube. It has the characteristics of low speed, high torque, and no noise.
Product operation:
The power drive unit can clamp the pestle under high torque.
Clamp the homogenization container tightly into the cooling container on the lifting platform.
During homogenization, it is easy to use the rod to lift the workbench up and down
This ensures strong uniformity for up and down movement without any user effort.
Instrument features:
Used for tough tissues that are difficult to homogenize
High torque drive unit, up to 3000 rpm
Vibration free, sturdy 3-support structure
Convenient cooling of samples with ice
Including for EPPENDORF? Quick clamping fixture for test tubes
Polyhedrality
The height adjustment and locking of the driving unit are continuously variable, making it easy to adjust various manufacturers of homogeneous containers/pestles.
The quick clamping chuck with a hollow shaft allows for quick and convenient replacement of pestles, and allows the use of pestles with longer shafts. Also suitable for handheld homogenizers or EPPENDORF? Reaction container. In addition, it can be used as a high-performance mixer.
Comfortable and safe
The lever arm moves the workbench up and down with the cooling container and tightly clamped homogenization container.
Improving institutions to ensure safe and comfortable work involves both resilient and sensitive homogeneous tasks.
Cooling containers provide additional work safety in the event of glass breakage or the use of pathogenic materials.
Speed stability
Schuett homgenplus uses electronic speed control to stabilize the variable speed from 40 to 3000 rpm. The speed is infinitely variable and remains constant, independent of load changes during homogenization.
The standard integrated 4-bit LED display makes repeatable uniformity possible.
Cooling container
Transparent cooling containers allow for permanent monitoring of homogenization and ensure high work safety. Schuett homgenplus is suitable for homogeneous sensitive plant materials, animal tissues, inorganic materials, etc.
The sample can be conveniently cooled with ice, and after opening the screw cap, the sample can be easily filled into the cooling container. This prevents sensitive samples from being heated during homogenization.
Universality
The universal clamping adapter for cooling containers allows for the use of almost all homogenized containers currently available on the market. Including 6 inserts for containers of various diameters during delivery. Can EPPENDORF even be used? Reaction container. The homogeneous container and insert are fixed on the chuck and locked. When using infectious substances (optional) for operation, the unit can also be modified and supplied for use in sterile workstations.
Product accessories:
Schuett homgenplus includes universal quick chucks to use pestles with different shaft diameters and lengths.
For faster and safer use, especially when using glass pestles with a shaft diameter of 6,8 or 10 mm, we recommend using quick clamping fixtures for the glass pestle. We offer a full range of homogeneous containers and cylindrical pestles made of glass or PTFE, respectively. Special pestle test tubes or Falcon tubes made of stainless steel or polypropylene.
Homogenizer:
Suitable for Schuett homgenplus semi-automatic homogenizer or any other drive unit with drill chuck.
The homogenization containers and pestles of Schuettbiotec GmbH come in different models and sizes, as well as different specific features, allowing users to choose a homogenization container and pestle that fully meets their personal needs - based on the consistency and fiber length of the material to be processed.
All homogeneous containers and pestles are manufactured with the highest precision to ensure the highest installation accuracy and achieve good uniformity results. In the case of breakage, only the damaged part must be replaced, and other accessories can still be used.
Pestle:
A cylindrical or conical pestle made of PTFE, fiberglass reinforced PTFE, glass, polypropylene, or stainless steel.
Please pay attention to using a glass pestle with a power drive device
When using a pestle and a homogeneous vessel made of glass, when two cut glass surfaces meet, the two items must be handled with care.
The speed should be as slow as possible. In addition, vertical power should only be used to the smallest possible extent.
When moving, only the glass surface covered by liquid should come into contact. The contact between two dry glass surfaces causes resonance vibration, which may lead to the rupture of the glass portion.
Before homogenization, please knead the pestle and homogenizer. Carefully insert the pestle into the homogenizer at low speed.
Cone or cylindrical
According to the task, a selection can be made between homogenizers with conical or cylindrical PTFE pestles or ground glass pestles. The conical homogenizer combines two regions for homogenization. In the conical region, the material will be pre homogenized, while the final fine homogenization occurs in the cylindrical region. If the starting material already has fine textures, a cylindrical homogenizer can be sufficient. The homogenizer and pestle have precise shapes, so they can be replaced separately.
