Evaluation and test of fabric anti-pilling effect

1. The anti-pilling ability of fabrics can be tested with various testing instruments, such as roller type (pilling box method), rotary blade type, brush type. Grinding method (such as circular grinding ball test method and Martin Tell type abrasion tester method), etc., the test results analysis method:

(1) Counting method: i.e. the specified area The number of pillings in the fabric;

(2) Measurement method: i.e. i.e. weigh the weight of the pills on the fabric and fall;

(3) Sample comparison method: it is about to start Compare the fabric after platoon with the standard sample to determine the degree sample pilling, which is divided into 5 levels. The lower the level, the greater the pilling of the fabric; the higher the level, the better sont anti-pilling performance;

(4) Use the pilling curve with the ordinate to represent the number of pills and the abscissa represents the friction time to analyze the degree of pilling and the rate of formation and loss of pilling.

Currently, the brushing method is commonly used for testing, and the sample comparison method is used for evaluation. There is also a half tier between tiers as needed. The specific operation is as follows: the fabric is tested to a certain specification. After brushing the nylon brush flat for a while, observe its pilling situation, then rub it with 2201 full wool gabardine abrasive with specific specifications to observe its pilling situation.

The above test methods are all designed to simulate the wearing process. However, due to the complexity andDue to the diversity of the pilling process and the wearing situation, the test results of the instrument are often different from the wearing effect. It can\'t match. Therefore, in addition to testing with instruments, it should also be judged by comparing it with the try-on effect.

2. Household textile pilling test

2.1 Test standards and conditions

Current national test methods for textile pilling There are three main standards:

(1) GB/T4802. 3-1997 “Fabric Pilling Test Method – Pill Box Method”, test conditions, no pressure;

(2) GB/T4802.2-1997 \"Test method for pilling of fabrics - Martindale Method\", test conditions, subjected to light pressure;

(3 ) GB/T4802.1-1997 \"Fabric pilling test method - Circular track pilling method\", test conditions, light pressure.

2.2 Test Instruments

Household textile pilling testing instruments are mainly divided into: pill box pilling tester, Martindale pilling tester, round pilling tester. There are three types of trajectory pilling instruments.

2.3 Test principle

(1) Pill box method: In a rotating rolling box with a rough inner wall, the tissue is wound on the mandrel. rummage through the boxAfter running a certain number of times, compare it with a standard physical sample or its photo;

(2) Martindale method: the fabric is ground under soft cushion conditions and then compared to a standard physical sample or its photo after being ground a certain number of times with abrasives. Use photos to evaluate them;

(3) Circular path pilling method: the fabric is scrubbed with a nylon brush a specified number of times under moel cushion conditionsthem, then compared to a standard physical sample or its photo under certain light for evaluation.

3. Foreign Textile Pilling Test

Test Standard 31

There are many foreign textile pilling test standards, among which the commonly used standards include: the standard of American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM, Japanese industrial standard, German DIN standard, British BS standard, ISO international standard, etc.

3.2 Test Instruments

There are three main types of foreign pilling test instruments:

(1)Type pilling: equivalent to household pilling type;

(2) Random rotation type: the fabric tumbles in the cylinder, causing irregular friction causing pilling;

(3) Martindale type: It has two functions of friction and pilling test.

For textile exporting companies, confroAccording to the different standards of trading countries, it is more difficult to test the problem of pilling of textiles. Judging from the testing methods used in most textile importing countries, they are generally limited to the search method and the Martindale method. For textiles with high requirements for pilling performance, the latter test is mainly used because this method is closer to the process of making people. With the internationalization of the textile market, textile enterprises should learn to adapt to many foreign testing standards, including textile testing standards for pilling.
