Analysis of the textile pilling test experiment of the user of the Martindale abrasion tester

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-03 Click:136

Under a certain pressure, the Martindale Abrasion Tester performs a continuous reversing friction between the sample and the specified abrasive and compares it to the standard parameters to evaluate the degree of wear and pilling. Touch screen operation with complete programmer, pre-programmed batch and total counts, individually set counts for each test head; 4 speeds selectable including standard speeds.

1. In the GB/T4802.2-2008 standard, the optional abrasives for woven and knitted fabrics of non-decorative fabrics are the fabric itself or abrasives for wool fabrics, but due to the differences in the test results of the two abrasives. At the same time, the test results are different with different pilling times. It is therefore suggested that if the product standard selects this standard for the assessment test, the type of abrasive and the number of pilling rubs should be stated.

2. FZ/T62005-2003 duvets and duvet covers, FZ/T62007-2003 sheets, FZ/T62009-2003 pillows and pillows all refer to GB/T4802.2 assessment products Pilling performance . However, the three standards did not indicate the standard date when citing the GB/T4802.2 method standard, while the \"normative reference documents\" of the product standard clearly stated: the new version of the reference document without date applies to this standard. However, the old and new standards of GB/T4802.2 have undergone major changes. The main differences are shown in the table below.

Table 6GB/T4802.2 The main differences between the old and new standards

Standard armature inner diameter load mass movement track friction times GB/T 4802.2- 200890 mm415 g (Bedding is generally woven fabric) Xiaoli Sharu Curve (24 mm × 24 mm) 125, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 7000 six stages (and the number of pilling and frictionof woven fabrics is not less than 2000 times in the comments ) GB/T 4802.2-199740 mm200 g (196 cN) large Lisaru curve (60 mm×60 mm) 1000 times

From table above, GB/T4802 The new .2 standard has major changes in armature ID, load quality, travel path and friction times. In the new standard, there are six optional stages in the pilling classification stage, and the pilling times are not specified in the product standards of the above three bedding products, so the experimental assessment cannot be carried out according to the new standard of the 2008 edition. However, if the number of friction and pilling is selected 1000 times according to the old standard of 1997 edition, the contact area between the sample and the abrasive is different due to the difference in the sample armature area, and the load quality and movement curve are also different, so the experimental resultates are not comparable. The assessment indicators in product standards lose their meaning. Therefore, after the new standard of the 2008 edition replaces the old standard of the 1997 edition, pilling of some product standards cannot be assessed. Improvements to these product standards are recommended.
