Product introduction

For leather abrasion resistance test methods, there are currently three test methods: the STROLL abrasion method, the TABER abrasion method and the Martindale abrasion method, all of which can be applied. Subsequently, Shanghai Qianshi will respectively introduce to you:

1. Martindale wear-resistant method

The Martindale abrasion method is commonly used in the abrasion resistance test and pilling evaluation of textiles,

Use the Martindale abrasion method, at a constant pressure Rub the sample with a standard rubbing agent. The relative motion of the Lissajous figure between the rubbing substance and the preparation causes friction in all directions. Evaluate the degree of damage to the sample after completing the prescribed number of rubs.

2. STROLL wear-resistant methode

The test principle of the wear-resistant STROLL method is: The test sample is placed on an air-filled rubber diaphragm with constant air pressure, and the sample is rubbed with sandpaper with specified surface properties. After the specified number of rubs, the degree of wear of the sample is assessed by appearance.

3. TABER Abrasion Method

American Standard ASTM D 3884-2009 "Standard Test method of abrasion resistance of textile fabrics (TABER device)" specifies the TABER abrasion resistance method. The test principle of the wear-resistant TABER method is: the sample to be tested is placed on a rotating platform, and the two rolling friction wheels above it perform a rotary friction movement with the sample under a certain load to carry the sample. One friction wheel faces outward and the other friction wheel faces inward to move across the samplerub to form a circular wear mark. After the specified number of rubs, the degree of wear of the sample is judged by appearance. Taber\'s wear tester can simulate real operating conditions or meet the test conditions specified in the standard, and a variety of different abrasives and accessories can be selected for different tests. The commonly used TABER grinding wheels for leather testing are H-18, H-22 and H-10.
