UPS working environment design

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-06 Click:64

In practical applications, except for a few domestic customers who have dedicated computer rooms, most of them install UPS directly at industrial sites to save costs. The construction site is generally dusty and hot, and there is also a problem of high humidity in the south. There are also metal dust in the cable industry, corrosive gas and dust in the ceramic, printing and dyeing industries, and explosion-proof requirements in coal mining and other occasions. . Therefore, corresponding countermeasures should be taken depending on the situation on site.

1. Basic requirements for installation and design of the inverter

(1) The inverter should be installed inside the control cabinet.

(2) The inverter is installed in the middle of the control cabinet; the inverter must be installed verticamaterial and large components that could block the exhaust and air intake should be avoided directly above and directly below.

(3) The minimum distance between the top and bottom edges of the inverter and the top, bottom or bulkhead of the control cabinet, or large components that are to be installed, should be greater than 300 mm.

Basic requirements for installing the inverter in the cabinet

(4) If a special user needs to remove the keyboard during use, the keyboard hole on the inverter panel should be strictly sealed with adhesive tape or replace it with a dummy panel to prevent a large amount of dust from entering the inverter.

(5) Regular maintenance should be performed on the inverter, and the internal dust should be cleaned in time.

(6) Other basic installation and use conditions shall be in accordance with the relevant instructionses of the user manual; If you have any questions, please contact the relevant manufacturer\'s technical support staff in time.

2. Design requirements for dust-proof control cabinet

When using the inverter in a very dusty place, especially a place with a lot of metal dust and floc, take proper and reasonable protective measures. Proper dust prevention measures are very important to ensure the normal operation of the frequency converter. General requirements The control cabinet must be sealed as a whole and ventilated by specially designed air inlets and outlets; the top of the control cabinet should have a protective net and the air outlet of the protective top cover; the bottom of the control cabinet should have a bottom plate, an air inlet and a wire hole, and install the dust filter.

(1) The air duct of the control cabinet should be designed reasonably, and the exhaust air should be smooth, so as to avoid the formation of eddy currents in the cabinet and dust accumulation in fixed positions.

(2) A protective cover should be installed on the air outlet on the top of the control cabinet to prevent debris from falling directly; the height of the upper protective cover must be reasonable so as not to affect the exhaust air. The side air outlet of the protective top cover should be installed with a protective net to prevent flocculant debris from falling directly.

(3) If the top and side exhaust of the control cabinet is adopted, the air outlet should be equipped with a protective net.

(4) Make sure the axial flow fan on the top of the control cabinet rotates in the correct direction and draws air out. If the windIf the fan is installed outside the top of the control cabinet, it must be ensured that there is sufficient height between the upper protective cover and the fan; Damage to internal components and equipment. suggestionInstalling plastic or rubber dampening gaskets between the fan and the cabinet can significantly reduce noise caused by fan vibration.

(5) The front and rear doors and other joints of the control cabinet should be sealed with gaskets or sealants to prevent dust from entering.

(6) All air inlets and wire entry holes on the bottom and side panels of the control cabinet should be installed with dust nets. Block entry of flocculant debris. The dust filter should be designed to be removable to facilitate cleaning and maintenance. The mesh of the dust net should be small, which can effectively block fine flocs (similar to the mesh of mosquito nets and general household mosquito nets); or determine the appropriate mesh size based on the specific situation. The connection between the dust net and the control cabinet should be treated waterproof.

(7) The control cabinet should be regularly maintained, and the dust, lint and other internal and external debris should be cleaned in time. The maintenance period can be determined according to the specific situation, but it should be less than 2-3 months; for very dusty places, the recommended maintenance period is approximately 1 month.

3. Control cabinet design requirements against moisture and mold

Printed boar and metal structural parts inside most manufacturers inverters have not been specially treated against humidity and midleness. If the frequency converter is in this state for a long time, the metal structural parts are subject to corrosion, and the corrosion process will be aggravated when the conductive copper bar is used at high temperature. For the small copper wires on the microcomputer control board and the control board, they will be damaged due to corrosion. Therefore, for applications with wet and corrosive gases, there must be basic requirements for the internal design of the frequency converter, such as printed circuit boards. The panel should be sprayed with three anti-paints and the structural parts should be treated with nickel and chrome plating. In addition, it is necessary to take other active, effective and reasonable measures to avoid moisture and corrosive gases.
