Scope of application:
Martindale Wear Tester is mainly used to test the wear resistance and pilling performance of various structural fabrics. During the test, the sample and abrasive are subjected to continuous reversing friction and compared against the standard parameters to evaluate the degree of wear and pilling.

Technical parameters:
1. Number of stations: 9 stations;
2. Count range: 0~999999 times;
3. Maximum stroke: horizontal 60.5 ± 0.5 mm, vertical 24 ± 0.5 mm;
4. Mass of pressurized material:
a. Holder: 200±1g;

b. Clothing sample weight: 395±2g;
c. Furniture decoration sample weight: 594±2g;
d. Stainless steel butterfly: 260±1g.
5. Effective friction diameter of grinding block:
A type 200g (1.96N) friction head (9kPa)¢28.8 -0.084mm;
B type 155g (1.52N) friction head (12kPa ) ¢90-0.10mm.
6.The relative speed of the holder and the grinding table: 20-70r/min (adjustable);

Martindale Abrasion TesterOperating process:
1 Sample preparation:
1. Use a sampler to cut a 38mm diameter circular sample from the sample.
2. The sample should be placed in a constant temperature and humidity environment to adjust the humidity before testing.
2. Place a piece of standard 140mm felt and standard 140mm friction cloth in turn on each sanding table.
3. Press the fabric and felt flat with a weight, tighten the ring clip, and finally remove the weight. Avoid curling the fabric when installing the sample. Place the sample in the sample holder. If the weight of the sample is less than 500 g/㎡, a new piece of polyurethane foam should be used.to be clothed. If the sample weight is more than 500g/㎡, no foam liner is needed.
4. Place the sample clamp on the friction table and then apply the required pressure. Apparel fabrics require a pressure of 9 ± 0.2 kPa and decorative fabrics require a pressure of 12 ± 0.3 kPa. Set the correct number of times and start the machine.
5. After the instrument has stopped, observe the sample and estimate the number of rubs to continue. As the end of the experiment approaches, reduce the number of rubs and carefully cut the hair particles produced on the sample with scissors.
