The ability of the electric rubbing color fastness tester to transfer fabric color from the material surface to other materials under dry or wet rubbing conditions. The sample uses standard pressure and movement methods to ensure sample conditions are controllable and reproducible.

A hollow nylon friction head can be selected for wet and solvent friction testing. Nylon friction heads have the same dimensions as standard friction heads, but have better chemical resistance. There is a loading hole on the side to evenly distribute a fixed amount of liquid to the test tissue through 4 plugging holes. When filled with solventssuch as MEK, it can be used to evaluate the degree of curing and wear of UV curable inks. The friction head is attached with screws to the side of the friction arm.

In order to ensure that the friction head is properly fixed on the friction arm, first use the standard calibration cloth of the electric friction color fastness meter to test and verify that the image produced is flat. The friction block provides a rectangular friction area of ​​19 x 25.4 mm (0.75 x 1 inch) for testing fabric floor coverings. It is connected to the drive arm via a screw located on the side of the friction arm. The screws can be 10-32 × 20mm Allen cylindrical socket head screws, which can be fixed and loosened manually. When testing wires and linear materials, an acrylic friction head can be used. It measures 25mm (2 inches) in diameter and 51mm (2 inches) in length. When held in place using a standard friction head, a large circular test area is provided to prevent material from slipping. The standard test tissue is held in place by two spring-loaded clips fitted with the friction head.

When replacing the friction arm, remove the screws used to secure the drive arm and crank (pay attention to the orientation of the washers), and remove the The entire friction arm of the instrument. Insert the new friction arm assembly into the guide rail, insert the washers and screws to the stroke length to connect the drive arm and crank, then tighten the screws.
