Preparations for calibration of the electric friction color fastness meter

The Electric Rubbing Color Fastness Tester is mainly used to evaluate and determine the rubbing color fastness of dyed fiber products. Use a dry or damp white cotton cloth to attach the friction head surface of the machine and apply a certain load. and the number of times, after rubbing the colored test piece, compare it with the gray mark to assess the degree of rubbing fastness of the dye. It can also be used as a friction test for organic solvents.

Once all testing is complete, the white friction cloth must be conditioned in a standard atmospheric pressure environment for at least 4 hours before it can be evaluated. For evaluation, lint on the surface of the friction cloth should be removed with transparent adhesive tape. When evaluating, evaluators should use the D65 pendant light sourcefor at least 2 minutes; the sample is placed at 45° from the light. It is necessary to place 3 pieces of unused friction cloth on the back of the friction cloth as the base cloth.

Preparation before calibration of the electric friction color fastness meter:

1. Appearance

Through visual inspection, the friction meter should be equipped of a nameplate in the appropriate location. The nameplate The model, manufacturer, factory serial number and other information must be marked on it. The working surface of the tribometer must be clean and there must be no mechanical damage to the surface that could affect the test results.

2. Inspection of the rotation mechanism of the friction head

When rotating the handle, the rotation mechanism should rotate flexibly and smoothly, without any jitter or blocking. When the handle turns once, the friction head shouldcycle (i.e. cycle rotation clockwise, then cycle rotation counterclockwise, then return to starting position ).

3. Inspection of the contact surface of the friction head

① Lower the end face of the friction head to the test plane and use a gauge thickness of 0.05 mm.to check the gap between the end face of the friction head and the test plane. Check 4 points evenly distributed around the circumference and the gaps should be ≤0.05mm;

② Attach the standard cotton lining cloth to the friction head, place a piece of copy paper on the test plane, and turn the electric friction color fastener. The meter handle rotates once to make the contact surface of the friction head complete a clockwise rotation cycle on the cop paperie, then performs a counterclockwise rotation cycle. Remove the standard cotton lining fabric and check the friction head contact mark. The contact area must be greater than 90%.
