Martindale Abrasion Tester SATRA wet friction test method

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-04 Click:126

Standard Group (Hong Kong) Limited Information: Martindale Abrasion Tester SATRA wet friction test method! The Martindale Abrasion Tester is used to test the friction resistance of textiles. The textile friction test is a must-do textile experiment in the textile industry. Here the engineers from Standard Group (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. relevant methods for you and steps.

1. Standard consumables for Martindale Abrasion Tester

Wool Felt (140mm, 90mm), Wool Fabric (140mm), Foam Pad (38mm)

Second, Test Sample
Cut 1 The device, such as a pressing knife, is large enough to produce specimens that can be pressed firmly against the specimen carrier. The exact dimensions of the test piece are determined by the clamps of the test piece carrier. Just in case the SATRA STM105 would have a round diameter of 44+ - 1mm. From different positions on the sheet, with each fabr50 mm icage edge is avoided.
2 Cut out a test sample and use it for comparison or reference to the faded or worn sample.
3 The test sample is centrifuged for 24 hours in an environment of 20+/-2°C and a humidity of 65+/-2%.

3. Martindale abrasion tester for textile testing
1. Textile and leather abrasion test The circular fabric sample is rubbed against the standard rubbing cloth. The abrasion resistance depends on the number of rubbing or the weight consumption of the sample when the sample is decomposed. The rocking path on the rubbing cloth of the test sample is called the Lissajous- called figure.
2. Pilling test of textiles and fabrics
The pilling test method used on the Martin-Dell test machine has been developed in collaboration with EMPA. The test is suitable for both knitted and woven fabrics (sand woven from staple fibres). The standard described in language is combined with de EMPA image standard to evaluate the degree of pilling.
3. Movement and amplitude
For certain tasks, an interactive movement test according to the Lissajous figure must be performed regularly. When switching from abrasion test to pilling test, the length of the vibration amplitude must be changed. Changing the operating mode and amplitude is very easy, just move the position of the drive unit, without the need for other tools and spare parts.

4. Step
1 Soak half of the abrasion resistant samples and half of the wool felt until the samples. The color is noticeably darker on both sides.
2 Place the specimen in each clamping ring with the test side facing directed outward.
3 If the quality of the test sample reaches 500g/m2, test method A or B can be used and foam is placed in each sample holder to fill the sample test space.
4 Clamp the sample toprevent the test sample from sagging, wrinkling and deformation.
5 Place a piece of dry wool felt on one half of the abrasion sample.
6 Place the dry abrasion test sample on the wool felt with the test side up.
7 Place the weight on the specimen, smooth out the wrinkles and remove the weight
8 Repeat step 6.7 on the other specimen
9 If necessary, immediately repeat steps 6.5 to 6.8 Step, use wet abrasion resistant samples and wet wool felt.
10 Correctly place the test sample in the test fixture to ensure that the test can run normally
11 Load the force on each test head to ensure that the test sample and the wear-resistant sample are loaded according to the required force value
