Abrasion resistance testing machine is mainly used for testing textiles, shoe outer layers, shirt linings, shirt soles and similar fabrics. It can perform dry and wet friction tests simultaneously. Under known pressure, a round sample cyclic planar motion is performed on a standard abrasive in the form of a Lissajous figure synthesized from two mutually perpendicular simple harmonic motions. Wear resistance is assessed by whether the sample should produce no holes during the specified number of cycles.
Martindale abrasion testing machine is widely used in textile and leather enterprises. Martindale abrasion testing machine can be used for abrasion resistance and pilling resistance of textiles and leather and other experiments. At the same time, Martindale abrasion testing machine peIt is also possible to test the abrasion resistance properties of fabrics and leather under other conditions. So, in textile and leather companies, the Martindalene abrasion testing machine is an artifact they cannot live without.
Here are the parameters of Martindale abrasion testing machine:
Meet standards:
ASTM D4970 ISO 12945.2, GB/T 4802.2/13775/21196.1/21196.2 ASTM D4966 ISO 12947 FZ/T 20020 BS 3424-24/5690 ISO 12947.1/12947.2 M&S P17/P19/P19C NEXT 18/18a/18b ISO 5470-2 IWTO-40 JIS L1096 8.17.5 Method E Woolmark TM 112/ 196 BS EN 388 /5 30 /13770 ISO 20344
Working principle:
The fabric to be tested is installed in the upper sample holder and rubbed against the abrasive installed on the grinding table. The friction trajectory is a Lissajous figure. After the specified friction step according to the test requirements, remove the fabric and calculate the wear resistance index or use a dVisual escription to assess sample lint and pilling levels.

Martindale Abrasion Testing Machine Test Steps:
1. The sample is parked in the laboratory environment for more than 8 hours.
2. Cut a sample from the flat part of the sample. If it is an insole, it will need to be cut down to the transfer area.
3. Remove the load and shaft fromload of the testing machine.
4. Remove the top plate and test fixture.
5. Sample installation: loosen the fixing ring on the test device, remove the sample pressing part, place the sample in the base of the test device, and place a sample pad between the sample and the base of the test device. piece, then place the sample pressure piece on the sample joint and secure it with a fixing ring.
6. Installation of wool felt and friction cloth: Loosen the fixing screws and fixing rings, place the wool felt on the base and spread the friction cloth, press the center of a 2.5 pressure plate kg.r of the friction cloth and reinstall it. Secure the ring and tighten the adjustment screw.
7. Reinstall the top plate and push the load shaft (12 KPa) through the round hole in the top plate.
8. Place the test device conholding the sample face down on the base device, adjust the circular groove of the test device to align with the load shaft, and insert the load shaft into the circular groove of the test device.
9. Set the number of times according to the standard, turn on the switch and start the test.
10. After reaching the set number of times, the machine will automatically stop and remove the sample to determine the result.
Notes:
1. The friction cloth cannot be used repeatedly. A friction cloth should be replaced each time a test is completed.
2. Wool felt can be used repeatedly and does not need to be replaced until the surface is worn or stained.
3. The insoles must first be removed from the fabric and then subjected to the Martindale treatment I test.
