Martindale Abrasion Tester Leather Abrasion Test Method

Author:QINSUN Released in:2023-04 Click:117

Martindale Abrasion Tester can test the abrasion resistance and pilling performance of various plants. Under a certain pressure, the sample and the specified abrasive are subjected to continuous reversing friction, and the degree of wear and pilling is evaluated by comparison with the standard parameters. Touch screen operation with complete programmer, pre-programmed batch and total counts, individually set counts for each test head; 4 speeds selectable including standard speeds.

Leather Abrasion Resistance Test (Martindale Abrasion Method) is based on the principle:
The Martindale Abrasion Tester is manufactured according to the design principle of J.G. Martindale and in accordance with the specifications of the Wool Industry Research Association A test device. It uses standard wool felt as the friction object to rub the tested items such as cloth, etc. Of course, the friction object can according to different testmethods and different requirements are changed from standard wool felt to other materials such as sandpaper to test the abrasion resistance of leather, gender or degree of depigmentation. The object under test is clamped on a cylinder, and a standard weight (determined according to the test method is pressed on the friction object, driven by the vertical and horizontal eccentric wheels to produce a Lissajous curve, the purpose is to achieve a multi- directional friction test For general footwear materials, the friction effect test during wear is usually performed simultaneously using dry and wet methods to simulate the impact of rain on the upper material of the shoe or the impact of sweat on the inner lining of the shoe.

Martindale Abrasion Tester Test Method:
Martindale Abrasion Tester can test at least four samples at a time and can test up to nine samples at a time.test position contains a protruding round bassis, the base has a flat ring, which can clamp friction objects, etc. The object under test is clamped on the cylinder, and a load (weight) is added. If no weight is added, the weight of the flat plate is is generated on the friction object. The pressure is about 0.1342Kg/cm2 or 13.16Kpa. Different test methods can choose different weights (weight) test fixtures. The seat of the test sample is driven by the flat plate to produce a Lissajous figure. However, the axis of each seat of the test sample is on the flat plate. For free rotation, a graphic sample of the measured object is clamped to the fixture and a specified weight is placed on it. After the clamp contacts the tested object and the standard friction material (fabric) Sandpaper, etc. (determined by different test standards) to produce a Lissajous figure. And produce a multi-directional frictionrun. Each time a Lissajous figure is completed, the counter jumps 16 times and the time is approximately 20 ± 1 second.
