Martindale Abrasion Tester can test the abrasion resistance and pilling performance of various plants. Under a certain pressure, the sample and the specified abrasive are subjected to continuous reversing friction, and the degree of wear and pilling is evaluated by comparison with the standard parameters. Touch screen operation with complete programmer, pre-programmed batch and total counts, individually set counts for each test head; 4 speeds selectable including standard speeds.
The Martindale Abrasion Tester complies with the standard:
GB/T 21196.1-2007 Martindale Method for Textiles Determination of Abrasion Resistance of Fabrics No. 1 Part
GB/T 21196.2-2007 Determination of Abrasion Resistance of Fabrics by Martindale Method of Textiles Part 2

Instructions for use for the Martindale abrasion tester:
1. Operating steps
1.1 Equipment: Martindale Abrasion Tester
1.1.2 Sampling
The sample must be free of obvious wrinkles and defects and must be tested according to the Humidity requirements.
1.2 Operation method
a. Cut 8 pieces of samples, the size is Φ140mm.
B. Prepare 8 pieces of felt of Φ140 mm (750 gsm, 2.5 mm thick).
c. Prepare 8 samples of Φ38 mm.
d.Place the felt flat on the test disc and place the test sample on it.
e. The sample and felt are pressed flat with a press block. Once secured, remove the clamp.
f. Install the Φ38mm sample and add the required sample weight.
Test at specified RPM.
1.3 Results
a. Observe the surface of the control sample and if necessary weigh the weight difference before and after the test.
b. Related records
c. Level up
d. Increase photo
2. Standard :
Mainly refer to the expert\'s subjective assessment method to evaluate the pilling index, select the Martindale pilling instrument, refer to GB/T4 802.2-1997 for the experiment, and rub the bottom film composite non-woven raw material 120 times (final product 150 times), the surface layer and the leak-proof partition wall non-woven fabric rubbed 30 times, tested 8 samples, the surface condition and the entanglement point of the surface fluff of the sample and the standard compared sample after rubbing, and evaluated the fluffing level of each sample. Mainly dividedin 4 levels:
Level 1: Qualified (tangle point is 0) no lint
Level 2: Qualified (tangle point ≤5) light lint
Level 3: unqualified (tangle point ≤ 10) with severe fluff
Level 4: unqualified (tangle point > 10) severe fluff
fluffing or entanglement If the node is between grade 3 and grade 4, it will be assessed as grade 3.5
The final grade of the sample = (X1+X2+...+X8)/8, and the final grade ≤ grade 2 is a qualified product, if 8 pieces. If there are 2 or more pieces of the test sample that are severely linty, it is considered an unqualified sample.
