Abrasion refers to the phenomenon that the surfaces of two objects come into contact and are rubbed to cause the surface material of the object to fall off. The wear process is very complex and includes different types of wear such as fatigue wear, curl wear, abrasive wear and even abrasion wear. A material\'s wear resistance generally refers to a material\'s ability to resist wear during a specific frictional condition. Different types of wear have yielded corresponding wear test methods, such as Akron wear based primarily on curl wear, DIN wear and NBS wear based primarily on wear, and Taber wear based primarily on fatigue wear. The results of wear experiments are generally expressed in terms of wear intensity, that is, the amount of wear per unit time or unit distance, and the amount of wear can be expressed by volume wear or mass wear. DIN wear

Akron Wear

NBS Abrasion

NBS Abrasion is tested per ASTMD1630-2006, cut with a 25mm square A test piece with a thickness of 6 mm was cut with a knife. Take the standard rubber test piece of Shao A65, fix it in the test piece seat on the power arm of NBS sander with double-sided tape, lower the power arm, and make sure that the standard rubber test piecek contacts the 40 # special abrasion resistant sandpaper on the roll of the NBS sander. Reset the NBS sander count to zero, press "test" until the wear thickness reaches 2.5mm, record the test rotation number R1; remove the standard rubber test piece and replace it with a test sample piece, repeat the test steps and record the test rotation number R; Replace the test piece with the previous standard rubber test piece and record the test rotation number R2. The abrasion resistance index of NBS is 2R/(R1+R2)×100.
