Product Introduction

There are two kinds of taber wear testing machine, taber 5135 and taber 5155, taber 5135 is a single grinding wheel, taber 5155 is a double grinding wheel, and the wear resistance of the material is evaluated by the friction between the grinding wheel and the sample. Size requirements :

The grinding wheel has a path width of 12.7 mm (0.5 in) and a distance of 31.75 mm (1.25 in) from the center of the sample. The size of the sample is related to the material of the sample. For most hard samples, the sample size can be a square with a side length of 100 mm (4.0 in). For soft samples, the sample is round and a sample retaining ring is used. If there is a monster block wordt used, the sample must be 108 mm (4.25 in) in diameter. If a sample pad is not used, the sample diameter should be 135 mm (5.25 in.) so that the sample retaining ring can be clamped around the edge of the sample.

If the sample is smaller than the recommended size, you can place 2 to 3 samples on the sample pad to meet the needs of the test. If the edges of the sample do not meet or if the thickness of the sample is different, the wear test results reflected on the edge will differ from the results of other parts of the sample.

Thickness requirements:

Standard for samples of taber 5135/5155 wear resistant testing machine The thickness is 6.35 mm (0.25 in). Samples greater than 6.35 mm (0.25 in) and less than 12.7 mm (0.5

inch), Requires adjustment of the S-21 stjgtube nut. Thicknesses greater than 12.7 mm (0.5 in) require the use of an Abrasive Stand Arm Raiser.

Taber Abrasion Tester can meet the needs of testing non-standard size samples by selecting sample blocks and sample plates. All sample dishes have a ball valve and a dowel spring to hold the sample dish on the motor shaft. This device prevents the sample pan from vibrating during testing and allows easy removal of the sample pan for sample observation or cleaning of the mounting holes on the motor shaft.

Monster pad (S-36 and S-36-1):

Diameter 108 mm (4.25 in) rigid sample pad, coated on one side with pressure-sensitive adhesive. When used for testing textiles and other soft samples, the sample can be placed firmly on the sample pad to prevent wrinkling. A test record sheet is printed on the back of the sample blockukt for storing sample test information. There are 2 types of monster blocks, square (S-36) and round (S-36-1).

Sample Form (S-37 and S-37-1):

An unbending sample block with a diameter of 108 mm (4.25 in) is coated on both sides with a pressure sensitive adhesive covered with a protective paper which is removed before use. Thinner than S-36 and S-36-1, S-37 and S-37-1 are used for samples that do not slide on the turntable, especially samples that cannot be drilled to the center, such as glass and ceramics. There are 2 types of monster blocks, square (S-37) and round (S-37-1). Both the front and back of the sample block are printed with a test sheet to store the sample test information, or use the square sample base E140-19 to fix the square sample without punching holes.
