45 Degree Burning Tester Test Principle

It is mainly used for the determination of flame retardancy of clothing fabrics, decorative fabrics, tent fabrics, etc. It is composed of a control system and a combustion chamber. The sample is installed on the sample holder inclined at 45° in the combustion chamber, the burner is close to the sample, the sample is ignited with the flame and then returned after a specified time, and the combustion state of the sample and the rate of flame spread on the sample are observed, to evaluate the flammability and the flame spread performance of the sample.

Principle of the test:

1. Yourt of burning intensity and rate

Under the specified conditions, place the sample at an angle of 45° , the sample is ignited for 1 s, and the time required for the sample to burning upwards with a flame over a certain distance is used as a measure to assess the burning intensity of the textile. For tissues with a scratched surface, inflammation or melting of the base tissue is used as an additional indicator of burn severity.

2. Testing the damaged area and the damaged length

Under the specified test conditions, ignite the textile sample in the direction of 45° and measure the burning time. afterburning and smoldering of fabric after burn, damaged area and damaged length.

3. Testing the number of times of flame exposure

Under the specified test conditions, light the textile sample in the direction of 45°, and measure the number of times that the the tissu must be exposed to the flame at a distance of 90 mm from the lower end of the sample. .
